Aaron Wolf Makes Appearance & Confronts EVIL Again

Sunday’s Hiroshi Tanahashi~Final Homecoming event for NJPW at the Gifu Memorial Center in Gifu, Japan featured Olympic gold medalist Aaron Wolf making a surprise appearance and confronting EVIL again.

Following HOUSE OF TORTURE’s (Dick Togo, Yoshinobu Kanemaru, Yujiro Takahashi, Ren Narita, & EVIL) victory over Master Wato, YOH, Toru Yano, Yuya Uemura, & Shota Umino in a 10-Man Tag Team match by nefarious ways, HoT attacked the other team. This led to EVIL grabbing a microphone and stated that Yano, Wato, and YOH didn’t deserve their NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Championship and issued a challenge for the belts. HoT then attempted to continue their attack on Yano only for Wolf to run out to save Yano and his pals. This led to Wolf hitting a judo throw to EVIL sending him out of the ring and the rest of HoT scramble out to safety.

Wolf then grabbed EVIL’s NEVER Openweight title belt and gave it a look before handing it to the referee who gave it back to EVIL at ringside.

Wolf is currently scheduled to face off against EVIL at next year’s Wrestle Kingdom 20 event on January 4, 2026 at the Tokyo Dome.


SHO & DOUKI Wins 2025 Super Junior Tag League

Sunday’s NJPW Hiroshi Tanahashi~Final Homecoming event also featured HOUSE OF TORTURE (SHO & DOUKI) defeating BULLET CLUB War Dogs (Taiji Ishimori & Robbie X) to become the winners of this year’s Super Junior Tag League tournament.

This was SHO and DOUKI’s first ever Super Junior Tag League tournament victory as a team, SHO’s fourth tournament victory, and DOUKI’s first ever victory in their NJPW careers.


Yuto-Ice Challenges Hiroshi Tanahashi to Match at 11/8 New Japan Road Show

Sunday’s NJPW Hiroshi Tanahashi~Final Homecoming event also featured one new potential match for the card of New Japan Road in Anjo event, which takes place on November 8th at the Anjo City Gymnasium in Anjo, Japan.

This new potential match was a singles match of Yuto-Ice vs. Hiroshi Tanhashi.

This new potential match was setup following Yota Tsuji’s victory over Tanahashi to retain the IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship. Following the match, Tsuji grabbed a microphone and paid his respects to Tanahashi for his legendary career and stated that he wants to become better than Tanahashi. Tanahashi responding back praising Tsuji and gave Tsuji his endorsement to become the next mega star.

As Tsuji and Tanahashi were celebrating together in the ring, Yuto-Ice came out and after some words, he issued a challange to Tanahashi for a match at next week’s New Japan Road event in Anjo. Tanahashi responded back with some words over Yuto interrupting the moment he had with Tsuji and then accepted the challenge.


Yota Tsuji vs. Konosuke Takeshita in Title vs. Title Match Set for Wrestle Kingdom 20

Sunday’s NJPW Hiroshi Tanahashi~Final Homecoming event also featured one new match set for Wrestle Kingdom 20, which takes place on January 4, 2026 at the Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Japan.

This new match set was an IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship and IWGP World Heavyweight Championship, Title vs. Title match of Yota Tsuji (IWGP Global) vs. Konosuke Takeshita (IWGP World).

This new match was setup following Takeshita defeating Hirooki Goto to retain the IWGP World Heavyweight title. Takeshita grabbed a microphone and gave a speech praising Goto for the match they had and Goto responding bringing up their 1-1 record against each other and wanting another match. After Goto left, Takeshita continued his speech calling out someone in the back to come out and be his opponent for Wrestle Kingdom 20. This led to Tsuji coming out to accept and Takeshita agreed on the condition that Tsuji also put his IWGP Global title on the line, which Tsuji agreed.
