WWE RAW Notes: John Cena Wins WWE IC Title, Rusev & Sheamus Advances in The Last Time Is Now Tournament, Nikki Bella Turns Heel on Stephanie Vaquer, Kabuki Warriors Wins WWE Women’s Tag Titles, Gunther’s Return & More Set for 11/17 Show Card

John Cena Wins WWE Intercontinental Title & Achieves Grand Slam Champion Status

Monday’s WWE RAW show also featured John Cena defeating “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio to become the new WWE Intercontinental Champion.

As a result of his victory, Cena became the newest member of WWE’s Grand Slam Champion club. Cena is the 18th person to achieve Grand Slam status in WWE under the current format and the 35th all-time in WWE history.


Rusev & Sheamus Advances in The Last Time Is Now Tournament

Monday’s WWE RAW show also featured the start of The Last Time Is Now Tournament and two First Round matches.

This tournament will determine the official challenger for John Cena’s retirement match at the December 13th WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event show.

The first match was Rusev defeating Damian Priest.

The second match was Sheamus defeating Shinsuke Nakamura.

As a result of their victories, Rusev and Sheamus advance to the Quarterfinal Round of The Last Time Is Now Tournament.


Nikki Bella Turns Heel on Stephanie Vaquer

Monday’s WWE RAW show also featured Nikki Bella turning heel and attacking Stephanie Vaquer.

This heel turn was setup over recent weeks shows over Bella and Vaquer forming a friendship and uniting over their bad blood issues with Judgement Day’s Raquel Rodriguez & Roxanne Perez. Following Vaquer’s victory over Rodriguez to retain her WWE Women’s World Championship, Perez attempted to attack Vaquer only for Bella to get involved and helped clear the ring of Judgement Day. As Judgement Day left, Bella attacked Vaquer from behind with the WWE Women’s World title and laid her out. Bella then posed with the title belt before leaving the ring.


Kabuki Warriors Wins WWE Women’s Tag Titles

Monday’s WWE RAW show also featured the Kabuki Warriors (Kairi Sane & Asuka) defeating Alexa Bliss & Charlotte Flair to become the new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions.

Near the end of the match, Lash Legend and Nia Jax ran out and interfered leading to Asuka attacking Flair from behind and held her up for Sane to hit an Insane Elbow for the pinfall victory.

This was the Kabuki Warroirs third WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship victory in their WWE careers.


Current Card for Next Week’s Show

Monday’s WWE RAW show also featured three new matches announced for the card of next week’s show on November 17th at Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York.

Among the notable new matches announced was a WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship match of Maxxine Durpi vs. Becky Lynch (c).

Another notable announcement was Gunther to make his return and will be facing off against Je’Von Evans in a First Round match in The Last Time Is Now Tournament.
