AEW: Buddy Matthews Ankle Injury & Surgery Update, Queen Aminata Reveals She Is Dealing with Neck Tightness Issues for Injury Abscense, MJF AEW Abscense & Filming Schedule Update

Buddy Matthews Ankle Injury & Surgery Update

As noted before, Buddy Matthews has been out of action for AEW since this past February’s Grand Slam Australia event due to an ankle injury and surgery.

Matthews provided an update on Wednesday on Instagram stating that he is able to do a hack squat for the first time since his surgery but his ankle mobility is still very restricted.

“UPDATE: Today was the first time since surgery to hit a hack squat – still very restricted with ankle mobility but working on it daily! Numbness is still a factor but hopefully subsides in the near future but still unknown at this time. Swelling depends on the amount of rehab I’ve done that day but easily maintained with Icing post.

Take each day as it comes!”

Queen Aminata Undisclosed Injury Status Update – Aminata Reveals She Is Dealing with Neck Tightness Issues

As noted before, Queen Aminata was pulled from last week’s AEW Dynamite show in Houston, Texas and also from Wednesday’s Dynamite Blood & Guts 2025 show in Greensboro, North Carolina due to her recently suffering an undisclosed injury.

Aminata recently released a new vlog featuring her providing an injury update and revealing that she is currently dealing with a neck tightness issue that has been keeping her sidelined. Aminata also stated that she could be out of action for as little as two to three weeks to as long as six months.

“I was not cleared because my neck is so tight. I cannot….[turns head] Now, I can move it a little bit, but because of that I got taken out of the match today and that resulted in me being taken out of Blood & Guts. I’m a firm believer in everything happens for a reason. Safety comes first. I’d rather be out two to three weeks than be out for six months. It hurts because I feel like I’ve put in the work to be part of this historical moment in women’s wrestling. I’m disappointed, but I know the medical team at AEW are trying their best to make me understand that they are doing this for my own good and well-being.”
