As noted before, Adam Cole has been out of action for AEW since this past July due to a concussion injury. In a recent interview with The Ariel Helwani Show, AEW CEO Tony Khan had mentioned that he wants to keep Cole as part of the AEW family and that there would always be a role for Cole in the company even if he’s not able to return to the ring.
Bryan Alvarez reported in a recent episode of the Wrestling Observer Live that his sources stated that Cole is still dealing with a lot of problems. Alvarez reported that Khan’s recent comments about Cole still not being able to fly due to his injury situation is a bad sign all these months later.
Alvarez reported that on the day of his concussion injury, Cole was considering going out and just retiring but was he talked out of it because you just never know with concussion-related injuries. Alvarez also reported that the current feeling is that Cole might not ever wrestle again and this feeling is strong in that direction.
Alvarez speculated that Cole likely is done for his in-ring career even though it has not been made official yet and it is still in a “wait and see” situation.
