Since his return from a bout with diverticulitis this past January, Kenny Omega has competed less frequently in the ring in AEW that has led to him having several notable breaks for health related precautions and reasons. Omega had stated in a recent interview with SHAK Wrestling that he did not want people to worry about his health situation and he still wants to be able to performance at his best in the ring. Omega reunited with The Young Bucks at AEW’s Full Gear 2025 event earlier this month.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources stated that AEW officials currently do not want to put Omega in long singles matches for reasons related to his health situation.
Meltzer speculated that this might have been the reason why AEW officials made the decision to have Omega and The Young Bucks reunite as The Elite at their Full Gear 2025 event.
