As noted before, Andrade El Idolo has been absent from AEW since this past October due to issues over him currently being under a non-compete clause with WWE after his firing from the company this past September. This non-compete clause is currently believed to be for one year in length over WWE’s claims that he breached his contract from his firing. Andrade provided an update in a recent interview with DeporTV that his lawyers are currently in talks with WWE to resolve his non-compete clause legal issue.
Andrade recently responded on Twitter denying a report from the Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer about him signing a contract with AEW prior to his return to the company. Andrade also clarified his situation with AEW prior to his surprise return appearance and his non-compete clause situation with WWE.
“I didn’t sign any contract! Sir, you say it with such certainty, that I signed a contract, when that’s just another one of your lies.
Do some more research, Sir. I was in negotiations to sign because Mr. Tony Khan and the AEW team were having good discussions, and we came to an excellent agreement.
I’m especially grateful to TK and AEW in general. Then, I received a non-compete clause after my AEW debut and my first match in Tijuana (The Crash), but I want to clarify that I didn’t know if that was the issue with WWE (honestly, I don’t know the answer to that).
Lo mejor para usted!!!
@davemeltzerWON I didn't sign any contract! Sir, you say it with such certainty, that I signed a contract, when that's just another one of your lies.
