John Cena Comments on Gunther Being Final Opponent of His Wrestling Career

As noted before, Friday’s WWE SmackDown show in Austin, Texas featured Gunther defeating LA Knight in the Finals of The Last Time Is Now Tournament. Gunther will be facing off against John Cena in Cena’s retirement match at WWE’s Saturday Night’s Main Event show on December 13th in Washington, D.C.

Cena reflected earlier today on Twitter about Gunther winning The Last Time Is Now Tournament and being the final opponent of his in-ring wrestling career.

“The stage is set for One Last Match. On a night of epic proportions, it is an honor to face off against an opponent who I respect and who has earned the right to issue this final challenge! I will bring my best, I know he will do the same! Don’t miss the Final Time! #SNME @peacock“

WWE Filed New Trademark for Potential New Wrestler’s Name

WWE filed a new trademark for “Fahd Tuwaiq” on December 5th for wrestling and entertainment-related purposes to the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

It is currently not known which talent on WWE’s roster will be given this new ring name.

“Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community portal; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information; fan club services, namely, organizing sporting events in the field of wrestling for wrestling fan club members; organizing social entertainment events for entertainment purposes for wrestling fan club members; providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely blogs, in the field of sports entertainment”

Current Production Plans for Season Two of WWE Unreal

BodySlam+ reported that their sources stated that several WWE talents including R-Truth, IYO SKY, Seth Rollins, Becky Lynch, Naomi, Lyra Valkyria, and Penta are currently scheduled to be interviewed for content for the upcoming new second season of the WWE Unreal docuseries for Netflix.

It was reported that WWE and Netflix have already completed a “significant” amount of filming for the new season.

In regards to potential episodes for this new upcoming season, it was reported that R-Truth’s contract expiration and its aftermath and Rollins’ Money in the Bank cash-in at SummerSlam 2025 are likely to be featured as episodes. R-Truth’s contract with WWE had expired this past June and made his return shortly afterwards at Money in the Bank 2025 following the negative backlash both within the company and online from fans. Rollins’ made his surprise cash-in at this past August’s SummerSlam 2025 event after faking a leg injury that fooled many within WWE who thought it was legitimate.
