A recent episode of The Ariel Helwani Show featured Harley Cameron as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Cameron’s thoughts about her recent AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship tournament victory with Willow Nightingale to become the inaugural champions.
“It was amazing. I think that it represents faith in you as a competitor, as a performer.
Being with Willow, who I absolutely adore, getting to make history together and being the first ever AEW Tag Team Champions is something that I’m like ‘Wow.’ There’s ups and downs in life, and there’s ebbs and flows in the business in general, but there’s monumental moments like this where you go, ‘Well, no one can take that away from me.’
And that no matter which way the journey goes, there’s moments that you can look back and be proud of, and I’m so elated that I get to have that moment.”
Cameron also gave her thoughts about her current dream match in AEW and her and Nightingale’s upcoming AEW Women’s World Tag titles match against Athena and Mercedes Mone at AEW Worlds End 2025.
“I will say truthfully we have Worlds End coming up, obviously, Willow and I against Mercedes and Athena. I think that our first tag match against them was one of my favorite matches I’ve ever had in my life and I genuinely am so excited for that. When I had a taste of it the first time, it was one of those matches that stays with you and makes you go, ‘Gosh, I’d love to face them again.'”
In a separate recent interview with Good Karma Wrestling, Cameron also gave her thoughts about how her working with people more experienced than her has been imperative for her growth as a pro wrestler.
“Working with people that are more experienced than me, that have better ability than me, has been just imperative for my growth. I honestly will say that’s why I feel that I’ve had such a spectacular year is because I have been able to work with such amazing people and learn from people who have so much experience and knowledge and it’s like a big community where we’re all helping each other. Then when you get to work with someone, you get to learn and you learn from your triumphs and your mistakes, and I think that it’s just, that’s the cool thing about wrestling is that every single match is a chance to better yourself.”
