Chris Jericho Says “There Was A Time” When AEW Went After AJ Styles After His WWE Contract Was Up

As noted before, AJ Styles officially confirmed his retirement from his in-rjng wrestling career this past February. Styles had stated in an interview with the Talk N’Shop podcast this past February that he is still going to be working for WWE in some capacity after his in-ring retirement.

GamesHub held a recent interview with Chris Jericho. One of the topics discussed included Jericho’s thoughts about AEW having interest in Styles in the past and revealed that there was a time when the company was planning to go after Styles when his contract with WWE was up.

“There was a time when we were going after him when his contract was up. Could he be a good fit? Of course he would be. AJ’s a great performer and a great guy. But there is something to be said for the fact that when you’ve worked in the Vince McMahon system for a long time, you think differently. There are ways WWE runs their company, and there are ways AEW runs theirs. I’m not going to speak for AJ, but I don’t know why you’d retire in one place and then immediately go somewhere else. That said, I’m sure it’s always a possibility.”

AEW+ On TrillerTV Shuts Down Ability for New Subscriptions

PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that TrillerTV recently shut down the ability for new subscriptions for the AEW+ service on their streaming site.

Johnson reported that existing subscriptions will continue but new subs for the service are no longer being processed.

The AEW+ page on TrillerTV reads:

AEW Plus is no longer open for sign up.
