As noted before, former WWE employee Janel Grant filed a lawsuit in January of 2024 against former WWE/TKO Executive Chairman Vince McMahon accusing McMahon of committing sex trafficking and sexual abuse towards her during her time in the company. Grant filed an amended lawsuit in February of 2025 detailing new evidence and claims against McMahon, WWE, and others. Grant had filed a memorandum this past April containing additional details in her allegations against McMahon, WWE President Nick Khan, former WWE Head of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis, Brock Lesnar, and WWE itself. The court had approved McMahon, Grant, and WWE’s request this past June for the lawsuit to be moved out of the public and into private arbitration, which was made official this past Monday.
Post Wrestling’s John Pollock reported that legal representatives for Grant, McMahon, and WWE filed a voluntary dismissal of the suit with prejudice on Friday.
Portion of voluntary dismissal of lawsuit filing:
Pursuant to Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 41(a)(1)(A)(ii), Plaintiff Janel Grant, by and through her undersigned counsel, hereby files this voluntary dismissal of the above-captioned action. Plaintiff, Defendant World Wrestling Entertainment, LLC, and Defendant Vincent K. McMahon (together, the “Parties”) stipulate and agree that this action and all claims pled herein are hereby dismissed with prejudice, but without prejudice as to the Parties’ rights to pursue their claims and defenses in arbitration in accordance with their agreement to arbitrate.
Pollock reported that this voluntary dismissal still needs to be approved by the judge before transferring the case to the private arbitration phase.
