As noted before, Kairi Sane was released by WWE this past April as part of a larger batch of releases and departures. Kairi’s 90 day no-compete clause with WWE officially expired on July 23 and she had recently hired notable wrestling agent Barry Bloom as her new manager to represent her for new contract negotiations.
Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp reported that their sources stated that there have been recent talks between Kairi and AEW for a potential contract.
Sapp reported that at the moment, no deal between the two sides has been finalized.
Sapp also reported that there are a number of companies currently interested in Kairi, including those outside of the United States. Those spoken to familiar with the situation reportedly stated that Marigold is not expected to be one of them for Kairi’s potential new home in Japan.
