Glenn Jacobs (Kane) Reportedly Considered As “Top Candidate” For Potential U.S. Senate Appointment

As noted before, WWE Hall of Famer Kane, real name Glen Jacobs, officially finished his eight-year term limit tenure as the Mayor of Knox County in Tennessee earlier this month.

Axios reported that their sources stated that Jacobs is currently being considered as one of the top candidates to potentially fill Republican Senator Marsha Blackburn’s seat this fall.

Blackburn is currently running for Governor of Tennessee with the election scheduled to take place this November. If Blackburn wins the election, she will give up her role as Senator and plans to appoint her replacement.

Blackburn’s campaign manager reportedly denies that such a list of contenders has been formed yet. Blackburn’s campaign manager stated “She has been very clear there will be no discussions about a potential replacement until the appropriate time.”

If Jacobs were to be appointed for the role, he would only be serving for two years due to he would be finishing up the remaining time in Blackburn’s term. Jacobs would have to run for re-election in 2028 to keep his position.
