As noted before, Sheamus departed from WWE this past July after turning down WWE’s offer for a restructured contract extension deal. Sheamus’ contract with WWE officially expired on October 1 and he was expected to get interest from AEW including some big veterans names have recently been pushing for the company to sign him.
Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp reported in a recent Q&A article that his sources stated that there does not seem to be a huge sense of urgency within AEW in bringing in Sheamus but some notable talents including Claudio Castagnoli and Adam Copeland have made it clear that they would like him to join the company.
Sapp reported that Sheamus has had talks with other companies but it is currently not known if he has had direct talks with AEW.
Sapp also reported that nothing seems imminent in regards to Sheamus signing a potential deal with AEW at the moment.
