Ludwig Kaiser (El Grande Americano) Battery Arrest in Florida Update – Kaiser’s Defense Given Access To More Evidence

As noted before, WWE and AAA talent Ludwig Kaiser, also known as El Grande Americano and real name Marcel Barthel, was arrested on charges of battery this past May following an altercation with a man in Orange County, Florida. This incident was caused after Kaiser and a female were allegedly acting “uncontrollably intimate” in an elevator and Kaiser attacked the man in retaliation after being allegedly told to “please have some manners.” Kaiser’s attorneys filed a motion this past July requesting for the case to be dismissed and provided Kaiser’s side of the story regarding the incident. The alleged victim Richard Reap filed a notice of appearance earlier this month listing a new attorney for his lawsuit and potentially teasing a civil lawsuit against Kaiser in the future. Kaiser’s motion to have the case dismissed was rejected by the court last week. Kaiser’s defense was recently given access to four pieces of evidence by the State of Florida.

The Wrestling Observer’s Joseph Currier reported that a new ” Notice of Supplemental Discovery” was filed earlier today by the Assistant State Attorney Juanda Padgett before the court stating that redacted medical records have been made available to Kaiser’s defense.

Currier reported that these medical records are presumed to be of alleged victim Reap.

Portion of notice filing:

COMES NOW, the State of Florida, by and through the undersigned Assistant State Attorney [Juanda Padgett] and hereby makes the following information available to the defense and states as follows:

Please provide a blank DVD for copy of Redacted Medical Records.

Currier reported that a pre-trial conference is still scheduled to take place on December 17 with a January 4-22, 2027 trial period if the case does not get resolved or extended before then.
