The Rock has confirmed rumors that he may end up playing the space mercenary Lobo of DC comics fame. When asked by a fan if the rumors were true, The Rock replied:
Rumors of me possibly playing LOBO are true. Joel Silver and Brad Peyton working on it now. That could be fun.. #RockTalk
In DC’s continuity, Lobo is an alien who works as an interstellar mercenary and bounty hunter and became one of the company’s most popular characters in the 1990s. Peyton is writing and directing the film and has worked with The Rock before on Journey 2: The Mysterious Island. Silver is producing the film. There is no release date currently set.
