— WWE announced via press release that they have appointed Swee Sin Wu as General Manager for the Asia-Pacific region. Wu will be based out of Singapore and will report to WWE Managing Director and Senior Vice President of International Ed Wells. He previously worked at Global Sportnet (GSN) as its Managing Director for Asia, as well as marketing roles for Disney.
Wu will be responsible for WWE’s business units across the Asia-Pacific region.
— Halle Berry returned to the set of The Hive, a new WWE Studios’ film. TMZ.com reported that Halle fell and hit her head while shooting a fight scene — and people on set were concerned because she started throwing up after the fall … a common sign of a concussion.
— The US Senate race in Connecticut has turned to discussion of whether Linda McMahon has money in tax-friendly off-shore bank accounts. When asked after a TV debate, Linda declined to answer the question. She also said she is not 100% sure that she will be able to release her full tax return by the primary on August 14th, noting that she and Vince are waiting on information they have “no control over.”
She did say of the tax returns, “I have every reason to believe that it (tax return) will (be released).”
