— Speaking of Jim Ross, sources in WWE indicate that there were rumors that he would be leg go by WWE a few days before he left the company. However, on the day before the departure, someone in WWE’s book department called an author to inform him that he had been selected by the company to write Ross’ autobiography.
A source noted that they considered it odd that WWE publicized the retirement considering that most casual fans probably assumed he was already retired, as he is never on TV anyway. Executives in the company noted that the release wouldn’t have happened as recently as a few years back, noting that it is further evidence that Vince McMahon isn’t worried about TNA as competition for them.
Early speculation is that William Regal will take over Jim Ross’ position working directly with talents in the WWE NXT developmental system.
