The Bemidji Pioneer reports that that District Judge David Mennis has denied former wrestler Eugene Otto Zumhofe’s request to have his child molestation trial delayed so he could find more witnesses. The ruling was made yesterday in Kandiyohi County District Court.
Zumhofe was Buck “Rock n’ Roll” Zumhofe in the 1980s and 1990s. He has been accused of molesting a young woman for several years. There is a total of 12 felony counts of first and third degree criminal sexual conduct for having sex with the woman about 1,800 times between 1999 and 2011. The jury trial begins Wednesday and will run through March 7.
Assistant County Attorney Nathan Midolo objected the request and said the case was delayed several times already, with witnesses already set to come from four states. The charges were filed in May of last year. Zumhofe pleaded not guilty in July and posted a $50,000 conditional bail.
