Backstage Update – Rey Mysterio Leaving WWE?

Rey Mysterio was not in attendance at the RAW and SmackDown tapings this week, which has led to a lot of speculation backstage about his WWE future as the company is building up to the WrestleMania 30 event. Mysterio’s deal with WWE expires in the next few months, and it is not a lock that he stays with the WWE as we’ve been reporting.

There is also a lot of speculation that if Mysterio leaves WWE that it will be for the AAA promotion that will air on the El Rey Network. Konnan is heavily involved with that project, and he has been very good friends with Mysterio for years. The AAA promotion will start taping TV this summer in Los Angeles.
