— As you may recall, a couple days ago we reported on Steve Austin’s support of marriage equality during his podcast. Austin took issue with what he perceives as hypocrisy in religious stances against the issue, saying, “If two cats can’t get married, but then a guy can go murder 14 people, molest 5 kids, then go to prison and accept god, he’s going to let him into heaven. After the fact that he did all that s**t? See, that’s all horse s**t to me, that don’t jive with me.”
Austin’s comments have now received coverage from several major news outlets such as The Huffington Post, USA Today, People Magazine and MSNBC. Most of them have noted Austin’s shots at gay rights opponents and his liberal use of profanity in his statement.
In addition the Washington Post ran an editorial on why Austin’s comments aren’t surprising, which you can see here.
