Since WrestleMania season, there have been numerous reports regarding Sting and the possibility of him coming into WWE for a run with the company. At one point, it was considered to be a lock that he was signing and coming in, however with him still having yet to put pen-to-paper, there are some who are thinking that there’s at least a chance that he won’t end up signing when all is said and done. For what it’s worth, many others expect it to happen but there are only a very select few people “in the know” and that’s making it extremely difficult to know how the talks are/have been going.
Sting revealed in an interview a while back that he had discussions and negotiations with WWE several years ago and that he came close to signing a deal for 100 dates per year with the company. Ultimately, Sting ended up backing out on the deal while the offer was still officially on the table. There are some who are worried that could be the case again with the current negotiations. During WrestleMania 30 weekend, Sting noted that “31” was his new favorite number leading many to believe that he was talking about a debut with WWE at WrestleMania 31 next year.
At last word, Sting was still scheduled to work on several WWE Network and WWE DVD-related projects, for whatever that is worth.
We’ll keep you posted as we hear more.
