A Live Report From Monday’s RAW & SmackDown TV Tapings

It was great to see Sting out there. I cringed when Stephanie McMahon came out considering how she talks to the roster, but I was glad Sting blocked the slap and then the focus went to Sting and Hunter. I did laugh when Hunter backed out of the ring when he saw the bat. I guess defending his wife’s honor wasn’t a priority at the moment after all.

Dean Ambrose got a huge response when he came out. I was glad to hear that. I’m guessing that most of Truth’s ring entrance may have been done at commercial but I got a laugh out of Dean getting into the music. I’m not sure if they showed Truth getting him to dance a little after the match or not, but we all enjoyed it.

I’m not entirely sure what the deal was with Bill Simmons coming out, but the only thing I heard in our section were a lot of “who is this guy” and booing. I guess it was all for the at home audience since we heard nothing he said and then he was never seen again.

Hulk Hogan was a big surprise. I don’t know if anyone knew he was there before, but as I’m sure it was obvious that was a big moment and the first time my son saw Hogan live so he was happy with that.

Paige vs. Nikki Bella got a lot of “this is sloppy” chants from our section. No one was happy with the outcome where I was sitting, especially my son who loves Paige.

Mizdow and Ryback got the loudest reactions out of anyone in their match. I am so hoping Sandow knocks Miz out on Sunday.

The “interspecies” match just about did in the guy at the end of our row seeing Natalya take the pin. He literally almost fell off his chair shaking his head and went on for some time about it being “stupid.” Granted, I shook my head, but I was just glad it wasn’t Kidd or Cesaro being pinned.

My husband went the concession stand and as he turned to head back he ended up face to face with Roman Reigns, who was being walked out by four security people. What I found funny is that security was keeping everyone back but failed to notice my 6’1″ husband standing shoulder to shoulder with Reigns. He said they acknowledged each other because how could you not since security ended up blocking my husband in. I asked him if people were booing at Reigns and he said no, they were cheering and trying to get his attention, but nothing like the reception he got inside the arena. When they moved up and my husband could move again, he told us where Roman was coming out and we could see people practically hanging over the sides taking pictures and reaching their arms out.

Of course, Reigns’ music hit and we had about three rows with different groups of guys that were very loud all night and they started booing Reigns to no end. I knew me cheering for him made no difference since it seems most people have the opinion that “all the women and kids love him,” but I cheered for him anyway. (And for what its worth Ambrose has been my favorite out of the Shield guys, so, no, my cheering Reigns is not based on what he looks like). I had hoped for something more out of that segment the way it was built up, and I’m confused as to why they cut the cameras off before Reigns let the belt go and knocked Brock back into the turnbuckle and after a brief stare down Brock left the ring.

Spoiler Warning: The information below contains spoilers information regarding Thursday’s WWE Smackdown television show

We had no idea Smackdown was also being taped so seeing King come out and everything switch out to Smackdown came as a shock. Lillian mentioned there being a “bonus” 8 man tag but nothing about Smackdown. That caused my friend and my son to start asking me so many questions, I was distracted from the tag match, but the Usos had a lot of support from our section. AJ and Paige had their in ring segment when the Bellas decided to come out. I admit I don’t have a tolerance for them on the microphone so when Nikki went into her speech I made a remark that caused the people around us to all yell Oh at once and agree which shocked me so I don’t know what AJ’s response to Nikki telling her she was never there and Brock worked more than she did was, but I’m hoping most of Nikki’s speech is edited. I don’t know if she forgot what to say or not but it seemed like she stumbled through trying to say real women do something about it and then as she stomped down the ramp she just froze and backed up quickly and ends with see you bitches Sunday. My son looked at me and asked what the point of that was. I had no answer.

Last thing was the 8 man tag. Reigns was booed at again, followed by Daniel Bryan chants and then I had to shake my head because the same group then lost their minds cheering for Reigns when he started hitting the opposition with spears. Good final match overall, and a long but good night.
