Last week, Scott Steiner challenged Hulk Hogan to appear at an upcoming Legends of Wrestling event. Promoter Louis Gregory has now released a statement denying any kind of appearance from Hogan.
He said: “I’d like to respond to the video in which Steiner challenges Hulk Hogan. I want to make clear to the fans that this video was entirely of Scott Steiner’s doing and that Legends of Wrestling has no relationship with Hulk Hogan. Mr. Hogan is not scheduled to appear at the CitiField event.”
Steiner challenged Hogan to a $1 million bodyslam contest, claiming Hogan’s biggest claim to fame was bodyslamming Andre the Giant. This follows an incident earlier this year in which Steiner reportedly confronted Hogan’s wife in a California airport before WrestleMania 31. Steiner was banned from the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony and was investigated by police.
The Legends of Wrestling event happens on June 7 at the Citi Field in New York. Other guests include Ric Flair, Bret Hart, Bill Goldberg, Rob Van Dam, The Nasty Boys and more. There will also be six wrestling matches, a trivia contest, prizes and more.
