Triple H on Mauro Ranallo and His Upcoming Documentary

As noted before, Showtime announced that a documentary based on Mauro Ranallo’s called Bipolar Rock ‘N Roller will premiere on Showtime on May 25 at 9PM EST. The documentary focuses on both Ranallo’s personal struggles with mental illness and his career as a sports and wrestling commentator.

Triple H recently praised Ranallo for both his bravery in going public with his life struggles and being an inspiration to others dealing with their own mental illness struggles.


WWE Did You Know – Superstar Billy Graham’s WWWF Championship Anniversary

In a “WWE Did You Know” type fact, today is the 41st anniversary of Superstar Billy Graham defeating Bruno Sammartino for the WWWF Championship. Graham would end Sammartino’s second WWWF title reign after 1,237 days while later setting the record for longest ever WWE Championship reign by a heel in WWE history.


ROH Announces Several New Matches for May’s ROH-NJPW War of the Worlds Tour

ROH recently announced several new matches for the cards of their upcoming War of the Worlds tour.

Two new matches were announced for the card of the May 9th show in Lowell, Massachusetts. These are a 6-Man tag team match of Cody, Marty Scurll, & Hangman Page versus Rocky Romero & Roppongi 3K (Sho & Yoh) and a 6-Man tag team match of SoCal Uncensored (Christopher Daniels, Frankie Kazarian, & Scorpio Sky) versus Jay White, Chuck Taylor, & Jay Lethal.

Two new matches were also announced for the card of the May 12th show in Royal Oak, Michigan. These are a singles match of Cody versus Hiromu Takahashi and a singles match of Punishment Martinez versus Hangman Page.


Misc. Wrestling News & Notes

Aro Lucha announced they will be holding their next set of television tapings on June 16th at the Nashville Fairgrounds in Nashville, Tennessee. At the moment, no talent have been announced for these tapings.

PCW Ultra announced Ricky Steamboat will be making an appearance at their May 4th event. He will be the special guest referee for the PCW ULTRA Light Heavyweight Championship match of Douglas James versus champion Shane Strickland.

Naomichi Marufuji defeated Kento Miyahara in the finals of this year’s AJPW Carnival of Champions tournament. As the winner of the tournament, Marufuji received an automatic title shot for the championship of his choosing at a future date.
