Injury Updates: Samoa Joe, EC3, Jinder Mahal, Nia Jax, Ruby Riott, Xavier Woods, Lars Sullivan

Samoa Joe

As noted before, Samoa Joe has been out of action since September 9th due to a broken thumb injury. Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp reported that a recent WWE internal injury list stated that Joe would be undergoing a medical evaluation on December 16th but it did not mention any tentative return date for him.

EC3

EC3 has been out of action since suffering a concussion last September. Sapp reported that his sources told him EC3’s concussion was worse than some of the concussions he has suffered in the past. WWE’s internal injury list did not state a potential return date for him.

Jinder Mahal

Sapp reported that there has been no update regarding Jinder Mahal’s return from a patella injury. He was originally listed with an expected return date of January 2020 which was then pushed up to November 1st but his status at the moment is currently unknown.

Jeff Hardy

Sapp also reported that WWE’s internal list did not have a tentative return date for Jeff Hardy due to the company wanting him take care of all of his personal and legal issues before being medically cleared for an in-ring return. Hardy was originally expected to make his return to the ring by November 2nd from his current knee injury.

Nia Jax and Ruby Riott

Nia Jax and Ruby Riott were both listed to be making their potential returns in January 2020. Jax has been out of action since undergoing ACL surgeries this past April and has started training at WWE’s Performance Center for her in-ring return. Riott has been out of action since suffering a right shoulder injury earlier this year.

Xavier Woods

It was reported that WWE’s internal injury list had a May 2020 date listed for Xavier Woods’ medical evaluation for his torn Achilles injury. Woods stated in an interview with CBS Sports last month that he currently does not have any timetable for a potential return due to the nature of his injury.

Lars Sullivan

Sapp also reported that despite Lars Sullivan’s recent training for his return from his knee injury, WWE’s injury list had him listed for a tentative June 2020 return date.
