AEW vs. NXT Week 30 Viewership Update

As noted before, the April 22nd episodes of AEW Dynamite and WWE NXT resulted in Dynamite generating around 731,000 viewers on TNT and a #24 ranking in the 18-49 demographic while NXT generated around 665,000 viewers on USA Network and a #50 ranking in 18-49 demographic.

This week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter provided an update that featured the quarter-hour breakdowns and other details not available in last week’s issue.

Dave Meltzer reported that AEW won every quarter-hour in terms of the 18-49 demographic group and seven out of eight quarters in terms of overall viewership. NXT reportedly only won the first quarter-hour in terms of overall viewership.

AEW Dynamite started off with around 720,000 viewers and their biggest gain of the night was the Scorpio Sky video package, Cody promo segment, and the beginning of the Orange Cassidy vs. Jimmy Havoc match which gained 50,000 viewers. AEW’s biggest decline of the night was the Dark Order segment and the Brodie Lee vs. Justin Law match which lost 43,000 viewers.

WWE NXT started off with around 728,000 viewers and their biggest gain of the night was the KUSHIDA vs. Tony Nese match and Matt Riddle & Timothy Thatcher interview segment which gained 18,000 viewers. NXT biggest decline of the night was the Drake Maverick promo segment and the Maverick vs. Jake Atlas match which lost 54,000 viewers.


More on AEW vs. NXT Week 31 Viewership

The April 29th episodes of AEW Dynamite and WWE NXT saw both shows decline in viewership and AEW topping NXT in terms of overall viewership and key demographic rankings.

AEW Dynamite drew 693,000 viewers on TNT and a #16 ranking in 18-49 demographic while NXT drew 637,000 viewers on USA Network and a #51 ranking in 18-49 demographic.

The results of the quarter-hour segment breakdowns were not revealed in this week’s issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter but Dave Meltzer reported that for the 18-49 demographic group, AEW increased by around 7.7% with 350,000 viewers while NXT declined by around 12% with 206,000 viewers compared to last week’s shows. AEW reportedly also held a viewership advantage over NXT for every sub-group within the key demographic group.

AEW’s biggest increase was with the 18-34 demographic group at 15.4% while their biggest decrease was with the teenager group at 25% compared to last week’s show.

Demographic breakdowns and comparisons were not available for NXT due to the show not ranking in the Top 50 for this past Wednesday.


United Kingdom and Canadian Viewership for AEW and NXT April 15th & 24th Shows

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the replay of AEW Dynamite’s April 15th show on April 17th drew 106,000 viewers on ITV 4 in the United Kingdom.

WWE NXT reportedly drew 11,500 viewers for their April 15th show on BT Sport in the United Kingdom.

In regards to Canada, WWE NXT drew 74,700 viewers for their April 24th show on Sportsnet 360.
