Molly Holly Reportedly Invited for Producer Tryouts

WWE Hall of Famer Molly Holly reportedly was backstage during this past Monday’s episode of WWE RAW, according to PWInsider.

In a separate report, Johnson reported that Holly will be continuing her backstage producer tryouts over the course of the next several weeks.

Holly previously worked in the company from 2000 to 2005 as an in-ring talent and has made sporadic appearances since then, including a surprise appearance at last year’s Women’s Royal Rumble match.

Kavita Devi Denies Reports of Her Release from WWE

The Hindustan Times held a recent interview with Indian wrestler Kavita Devi. One of the topics discussed included Devi denying reports that she was among those released last month by WWE from their NXT brand and developmental system.

Devi also stated that she is currently in talks for a new deal with the company.

“I’ve read some of those reports, and they aren’t accurate. I have been back at home in India since January. My husband contracted Covid earlier this year and I needed to be here with my family, I chose not to go back to America. Everyone at WWE has been incredibly supportive, I am filled with gratitude for everything they have done for me. I have also had an ACL injury for over a year and have been unable to perform in the ring but WWE still supported me through all of that. They understand that India is where I need to be. We are working together on a new arrangement that allows me to be home, but still part of the WWE Universe.”

This Past Monday’s RAW News & Notes

PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that the opening Miz TV and Beat the Clock match segments from this past Monday’s episode of WWE RAW ran around eight to ten minutes longer than initially planned. Johnson reported that this caused WWE officials to cut time from other segments in order to for the show to be able to end on time. Johnson also reported that Vince McMahon was not thrilled backstage over what had happened and the changes needed on the spot for the show.

Johnson also reported that no segments that was originally planned from the show was cut out entirely but several had to be shuffled around to different points in the broadcast in order to accommodate the time cuts.

The main event match of Kofi Kingston vs. Drew McIntyre reportedly was unaffected and it went as long as originally planned.

In regards to new WWE announcer Jimmy Smith, Johnson reported that he received positive reviews within the company for his debut performance on RAW. WWE officials reportedly were very happy with the energy he brought to the RAW commentary booth. Johnson also reported that those spoken to stated that the time Smith spent preparing in recent weeks made all the difference in him having the right energy and rhythm needed for the job.
