Last week, it was reported that John Cena landed a role in an upcoming spy movie called “Argylle,” which is scheduled to begin shooting in August in Europe.
This raised questions about whether or not Cena would be available for an appearance at SummerSlam on August 21, where he is rumored to be wrestling against Roman Reigns.
According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, the movie will not be a “hurdle” and “the match is happening.” “This is what I was told today: The movie thing is not a hurdle. The belief is that it’s all going down. So the match is happening,” Meltzer said.
It’s also been previously rumored that Cena may be back on WWE TV as early as this Friday’s SmackDown, which will be the first SmackDown in front of a live crowd in months. As of May, the idea was reportedly “being discussed” by WWE, according to Meltzer, so it’s not clear if it’s actually going to happen.
