Kenny Omega will be medically evaluated on Wednesday for a variety of injuries and issues he’s been dealing with for the past several months, according to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio.
Meltzer said that despite the injuries, Omega was determined to work through them due to him being AEW World Champion and wanting to finish his storyline with Hangman Page. Now that he has dropped the title to Page, it’s possible that he could take some time off.
“I think he’s gonna be checked on Wednesday for all the different things,” Meltzer said. “I mean, he’s been working through all kinds of stuff for months and months and it was one of those things where he was gonna work through it because that was his role as World Champion. He’s getting everything checked out. There’s a whole litany of things. If he needs to take time off, it’s the time now. He was pretty much determined that he was gonna work through and lose the championship to Adam Page when the time came. So now he’s gonna see where he stands with everything.”
Meltzer added that Omega has been dealing with a torn labrum for months. It was reported yesterday that Omega isn’t able to lift heavy weights with his shoulders due to the injury.
In a chiropractic video that was released on Saturday, Omega said that he has also been dealing with vertigo since 2018.
“It’s been an issue since 2018,” Omega said. “I just get really bad vertigo. I get dizzy in the ring. The room spins. It’s been a new skill I’ve had to inherit – wrestling in a spinning ring. So to make sure I get that straightened out as much as I can, as often as I can is really paramount for my performances.” h/t: Fightful
