WWE: Netflix Reportedly Cancelled Vince McMahon Docuseries, John Cena Update, Fall 2022 Events Schedule

Netflix Reportedly Cancelled Production of Planned Vince McMahon Docuseries

As noted before, WWE Studios and Netflix are currently working on a new documentary series based on Vince McMahon that will air on Netflix’s streaming service.

Denise Salcedo reported that her sources within Netflix stated that the company recently pulled all of their plans and production for this upcoming McMahon series.

One Netflix source stated that the project had been deep in post-production and several talent interviews had been completed months ago. This same source also stated that Netflix had already spent millions of dollars on the project prior to its cancellation.

McMahon is currently under investigation by WWE over allegations of misconduct and secret settlement payments to several former female employees and talent in the company.

Vince McMahon Reportedly Meeting with John Cena for Future WWE Appearances

As noted before, John Cena made a special appearance for WWE during their June 27th episode of RAW in Lardeo, Texas. This episode revolved around WWE’s celebrations of the 20th anniversary of Cena’s official debut in the company.

Fightful Select reported that Cena is currently expected to be in Vancouver, Canada over the next few months for the filming of the second season of his Peacemaker television series.

It was also reported that their sources stated that Vince McMahon was scheduled to travel from Fort Worth, Texas to Vancouver following Friday’s SmackDown show for unknown reasons believed to likely involve Cena. It was reported that the word going around backstage was that this meeting with Cena was the reason for McMahon’s scheduled travel.

It was also reported that while WWE did not have any plans for Cena to be at their SummerSlam 2022 event as of last week, there have been recent rumors of WWE trying to get Cena to agree to compete in a match at next year’s WrestleMania 39 event in Los Angeles, California.
