Another reason for NXT’s increase reportedly was due to the gains from their Over 50 viewership group, which was up 6.1% compared to last week’s show. Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the main reason for AEW’s declines this week was due to the large declines from their older key demographic and Over 50 viewership groups, which were down 11.6% and 9.8% respectively compared to last week’s show. This reportedly offset the large gains from their Teenagers and younger key demographic viewership groups, which were up 65% and 13% respectively compared to last week’s show. Meltzer also reported that another reason for AEW’s decline was due to the general decline from their lead-in programming viewership, which reportedly had been generating on average 0.32 to 0.30 ratings per show early into the year to now averaging around 0.18 per show in recent weeks.

In terms of head-to-head competition, the MLB simulcast games of Los Angeles Dodgers vs. San Fransisco and Colorado vs. San Diego drew 254,000 viewers on MLB Network, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills drew 1,184,000 viewers on Bravo, and Real Housewives of Dubai drew 643,000 viewers on Bravo.

AEW’s peak for overall key demographic viewership reportedly took place during the Jay Lethal and Wardlow angle and The Undisputed Elite’s promo & Young Bucks ambush attack segment. Meltzer reported that the Dumpster match between The Gunn Club and The Acclaimed drew the peak viewership for several of AEW’s key demographic viewership groups.
