As noted before, Malakai Black has been away from AEW since this past September due to personal and mental health-related issues. Black recently denied the rumors and reports that he was granted his release from AEW and promised that he would return to the company once his current break is over. Besides Black, Buddy Matthews is also currently on a break from the company over similar issues as well.
Black recently posted a House of Black teaser on Instagram that featured himself, Matthews, Julia Hart, and Brody King. This teaser also featured a caption titled “An elegy of the forgotten.”
Similar teaser videos were also posted by Matthews, Hart, and King on their own Instagram accounts.
It is currently not known when Black will be making his return to AEW but he had mentioned that it would be “pretty soon” in a posting on Instagram this past September.
