Roman Reigns & Drew McIntyre Injury Status Updates

As noted before, Roman Reigns suffered a potential ear injury at WWE’s Survivor Series WarGames event this past November following an unplanned spot involving Kevin Owens. Besides Reigns, McIntyre also recently suffered an unknown injury causing him to be pulled from tonight’s upcoming SmackDown show.

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources confirmed that Reigns did suffer a ruptured eardrum injury. Those same sources reportedly also stated that McIntyre had also suffered a similar injury during the Men’s WarGames match but managed to work through it.

In regards to McIntyre, Meltzer reported that McIntyre did not realize the severity of his injury until after working at a house show event this past Sunday. Following his match, McIntrye was checked by WWE doctors who informed him of his injury causing him to be pulled from this week’s SmackDown show.

Meltzer reported that WWE officials currently do not expect Reigns nor McIntyre to be out of action for any significant amount of time.


Kylie Rae, Vincent, & Others Attended Recent WWE Tryouts

Former AEW and Impact Wrestling talent Kylie Rae reportedly was among the notable indie wrestlers invited by WWE for tryouts at their Performance Center this past week, according to PWInsider.

Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated that besides Rae, Major League Wrestling talent KC Navarro was also among those who had been invited for tryouts.

In a separate report, Johnson reported that former Ring of Honor and Impact Wrestling talent Vincent and former ROH talent Dutch were also among those who were invited for tryouts this past week. Both Vincent and Dutch were also seen in attendance during this past Tuesday’s NXT show at WWE’s Performance Center.


WWE News & Notes

As noted before, Charlotte Flair has been absent from WWE since this past May due to her being granted time off for marriage and family-related reasons. Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources stated that WWE officials are currently working on creative plans for Flair’s upcoming return.

WWE reportedly is currently planning to hold a double set of television tapings for their NXT brand on December 14th at the Performance Center, according to PWInsider. Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated that WWE is currently planning to tape the December 20th and December 27th episodes of NXT that night and will return back to airing lives episodes of NXT starting with the January 3, 2023 show.

The pre-show panel for this Saturday’s NXT Deadline event was recently revealed to be McKenzie Mitchell, Sam Roberts, and Instinct Culture’s Denise Salcedo.

Former MMA fighter and current WWE developmental talent Valerie Loureda revealed on Twitter that she was recently given a ring name change and will now be known as Lola Vice in the company going forward.

WWE reportedly recently offered a developmental contract to bodybuilder Melanie Brzezenski, according to ABC Action News.

VICE reportedly will be airing the upcoming Nine Lives of Vince McMahon documentary on their network on December 13th starting at 9PM EST, according to PWInsider.
