Following the match, Zayn gave a speech to the crowd about his return to Montreal since this past February’s Elimination Chamber 2023 event. Zayn statedYou know I’ve been coming to Montreal as part of WWE for over ten years now. And every single time I’ve come, man, that was special. I think, ‘There is no way that next time will be quite as special.’ and guess what, every time is even more special. And I said this over and over and over for ten years and after Elimination Chamber in Montreal, with all of you in my corner, there is no way to get more special than that. Again, I was wrong. Somehow, tonight is even more special AGAIN. Kevin might have mentioned, he’s got his wonderful family who has supported him all these years sitting right here. You see them every time we’re in Montreal, you see my family in the front row right here. But tonight is even more special because you may know this about me by now, but I’m a little bit of a private person, I keep things to myself. Some of you might not know this but I have a little boy. And he’s this cutie patootie right here in the red shirt. When I’m at home I’m not a WWE superstar, I’m not Sami Zayn, I’m just bah bah. And this young man has never seen me wrestle, he knows nothing about what I do. Tonight is the first time ever he sees me in this ring.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)

Green stated “But I think what I’m most excited for is to attempt to qualify for Money in the Bank. Last year, unfortunately, I was landlocked so I wasn’t able to get out of the country so, being in Money in the Bank would be amazing but being in Elimination Chamber in Australia would also be really amazing. Being able to leave the country this year, travel with WWE, meet my fans and get back to Australia because I used to live there so… I mean honestly, I go could on because I’m so excited that we’re bringing WWE to Paris and to parts of Germany. It’s just a really exciting year I think and I think this year will be the year that my suitcase is permanently packed. In theory, I’m not supposed to leave still but I ended up getting an exemption to be able to leave the country for work. But I was landlocked for over a year.” (Transcript h/t: PostWrestling.com)

We got my little brother [Brogan], who actually just signed to NXT. I’d probably go with my dad. I’ll take experience over youth. I would go with the old man.” Finlay also gave his thoughts about his interest in a potential career in WWE in the future. Finlay stated “My only contact is my dad, my only contact needs to be my dad. On one hand, it’s never been talked about officially, but on the other hand, about every other time I go over for dinner, it gets talked about. He’s like, ‘You could come work with me.’ When I’ve accomplished all I need to accomplish in Japan, maybe I’ll entertain the option. But for right now, I got an IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship to win and make world-famous.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)

Whether I win or lose, I just fight. I don’t think about nothing. But I never think I’m gonna lose. But it’s kinda like, if I lose, whatever, as long as I put on a good fight and I’m defiant to the end, you know? But after that “bum” sign from Bryan and embracing it, becoming King of the Bums and Prince of the Gutters, I just, I have so much confidence now that I don’t think it’s gonna take someone really special to take these three championships from me. I think the best part of this whole thing was, I was in there with Mox, the brother that I chose…When I say my brother, me and Mox are cut from the same cloth, so beating my brother Mox is just really like, “Who can beat me?” That’s how I feel right now. If you would have told me about this three years ago…before I came to AEW, I would have told you you’re an asshole.” Kingston also gave his thoughts about the three championships he currently holds as AEW’s first ever Triple Crown Champion. Kingston stated “Being the New Japan STRONG Openweight Champion, and what those letters mean to me, means a lot. Ring of Honor World Champion, like my mentor Homicide. And now being the first ever Continental Crown Champion — having three titles like my heroes before me.” (Transcript h/t: PostWrestling.com)

  • In a recent interview with TV Insider, MJF gave his thoughts about his belief that 2023 was a rebuilding year for AEW. MJF stated “Let’s face it. This has been a rebuilding year for us. A lot of crazy sh*t has happened. People have left. People have gotten injured, and there have been f*ck’in serious issues in the back. Through it all guys like me have had to steady the f*ck’in ship. I’m not asking for a pat on the back. It’s my job to do that. It’s why I’m the guy and world champion. As the world champion, I’ve often managed to help bring AEW million-dollar houses. I’ve sold a boatload of merchandise and done good ratings for our shows. The fact of the matter is that’s not enough. I always need to be looking to grow not just my brand but our brand. I think it’s telling that Worlds End sold out and we had to add more seats in the Nassau Coliseum. What that proves there is a lot of interest in seeing me versus Samoa Joe, the wrestling legend. Frankly, I’m a wrestling legend in the making. I think all the crazy sh*t that has gone down this year, guys like me and Joe made it a point to be the guys you can pass the rock to and we can go and score a f*ck’in touchdown for our company. MJF also gave his thoughts about what should be AEW’s goals for 2024. MJF stated “I frankly think what we are doing now. We are bettering the product. I think we lost our footing at points, but I think that’s had to do with some crazy f*ck’in sh*t that went down. Let’s face it, some of it was out of our control. Also, some of it was in our control. So, I think it’s very important when we read criticism we take it as constructive. I mean when we can. There is a difference between, “I want AEW to die. Fed is better. LOL.” That kind of tweet. And, “I miss when AEW kind of had a more sports presentation.” Or, “I miss MJF chopping it up on the stick and f*ck’in bury people.” There are constructive things though. I think now more than ever we are the listening company. We are trying to be the listening company. I think the reason there is so much criticism online, and I’m starting to see it lessen because we are starting to give people what they are asking for, but it’s because the fans hold me and the company to a higher standard. I take that with a lot of pride. There is a reason to expect greatness from me. It’s because I’ve given it to them before. I plan on giving it to them at Worlds End.

If that happens, I think it will be a big decision. I still have things to do in Japan. There is nothing definite about the future. If I could say one thing, it would be Sono Giapponese (in Italian).
