Trinity Reportedly Expected to Leave Impact/TNA & Return to WWE

Impact Wrestling talent Trinity Fatu, former Naomi in WWE, reportedly is currently expected be leaving the company and returning to WWE, according to Fightful Select.

It was reported that their sources spoken to within Impact and WWE both currently expect Trinity to make her return to WWE “sooner rather than later.”

It was also reported that WWE officials have had a long major interest in wanting Trinity back.

Trinity has been working for Impact since April of 2023.


NJPW Unveils New IWGP Global Heavyweight Title

As noted before, New Japan Pro Wrestling announced this past December that they will be debuting a new IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship at their upcoming Wrestle Kingdom 18 event.

NJPW held a press conference earlier today in Japan to promote this Thursday’s Wrestle Kingdom 18. During Jon Moxley, Will Ospreay, and David Finlay’s portion of the press conference, NJPW officially unveiled the new IWGP Global Heavyweight title that will be awarded to the winner of their triple threat match at the event.


Misc. Wrestling News & Notes

Wednesday’s New Year Giant Series 2024 event in Tokyo, Japan featured Katsushiko Nakajim defeating WWE NXT’s Charlier Dempsey to retain the AJPW Triple Crown Championship.

AJPW recently announced that Konosuke Takeshita will be making an appearance for the company at their January 27th event in Hachioji, Japan. It was also announced that Takeshita will be teaming up with Hideki Okatani in a tag team match against Yuma Aoyagi & Atsuki Aoyagi at the event.

As noted before, a new wrestling-based docuseries based on WCW is currently in production by VICE and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s Seven Bucks Productions. PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated that the team behind the Dark Side of the Ring series is currently involved in the production of this new potential WCW series. Johnson reported that several former WCW personalities were recently contacted for potential interviews for this project.

WrestleCon recently announced that Nic Nemeth, former Dolph Ziggler in WWE, will be making an appearance for the company at their WrestleCon 2024 on April 4-7, 2024 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

United Wrestling Network recently announced that they will be holding a new set of Championship Wrestling from Hollywood television tapings on January 14th in Long Beach, California.

Big Japan Pro Wrestling announced that they have pulled Yusaku Ito from their January 3rd and January 4th events due to him recently suffering a left ankle injury.

Pro Wrestling Revolver recently announced that Elijah, former Elias in WWE, will he making his official debut for their company at their WhatAShow event on February 17th in Grand Prairie, Texas.

Pro Wrestling NOAH recently announced that Kai Fujimura suffered a fractured right wrist injury at Tuesday’s The New Year 2024 event in Ariake, Japan.

Pro Wrestling Tees recently released their Top 25 merchandiser sellers list for 2023 for their PWTees and AEW’s ShopAEW online stores. The Top 5 in order were CM Punk, Jay Briscoe, MJF, Danhausen, and Kenny Omega.

Major League Wrestling recently announced that this year’s War Chamber event will be taking place on March 29th in St. Petersburg, Florida. It was also announced that tickets will officially go on sale starting this Friday.
