Ricky Starks Clarifies Health Status – “I’m Not Injured”

As noted before, Ricky Starks has been out of action for AEW since this past March due to a potential head-related injury.

Starks provided an update earlier today on Twitter denying reports and rumors of him currently dealing with an injury. In response to PWInsider’s Mike Johnson report about Starks being in Jacksonville, Florida last week getting checked out by AEW’s medical team, Starks stated that this was just for his annual physical.

In a follow-up tweet, Starks stated that he is not injured and never was for his current absence from AEW.

Powerhouse Hobbs Issues Statement on His Knee Injury

As noted before, Powerhouse Hobbs has been out of action for AEW since this past late April due to a knee injury.

Hobbs recently provided an update on Twitter reflecting on his injury and his goal to come back better than before.

“Not sure what to say. Injuries happen and we deal with them. We recalibrate, we rebuild, we reinvent. The real test is the comeback. I’ve been told I’ll come back like nothing ever happened.

So, why do I feel so angry right now? Why do I feel so disappointed? It’s because that’s all bullshit. Nobody comes back the same after any injury. The only choice is to come back better.

As I sit here on this Island of Darkness, I have thousands of questions running through my mind nonstop. The doctors tell me not to worry. Just HEAL and RECOVER. They have no idea that this is nothing compared to the hell I’ve been through. Just rest assured when I come back that I’m bringing Hell with me.”

Swerve Strickland AEW Contract Status Update

A recent Sign It Live virtual fan signing event for Highspots featured Swerve Strickland as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Strickland revealing that he had signed a “lengthy” contract with AEW in 2022 and winning the AEW World Championship quicker than his original goal for his AEW career.

“Not quickly but it was something I always wanted to strive to do (Strickland responded when asked if he envisioned he’d be where he is now when he exited WWE) and I got a lengthy contract so it’s like, okay, cool, I’m gonna try to get to that and I have a manager and an attorney who was just like, ‘If you work on these things, improve on this and we get to this point right here, you get this right, we can probably get into this world championship, title contention thing in about three years’ and I was able to do it in two and actually achieve it. So it was just like, I had to work overtime to get to this success. I had to do a lot more than I — even what was asked of me and that’s the hard part but it’s also the simple scope of things if that makes sense. It’s a simple concept but it’s just difficult work. You gotta keep going.”
