Abadon & Nick Comoroto Reportedly Expected to Leave AEW This Month
As noted before, AEW released Miro and Ricky Starks and Malakai Black’s contract expired this past February. Besides those three, “Legit” Leyla Hirsch’s contract also had expired this past February. Zak Knight’s contract had expired earlier this month while Rey Fenix was released from his contract earlier this month as well. AEW is currently rumored to be doing more talent departures for their roster this month.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources confirmed that more talent are expected to be departing from AEW this month. Meltzer reported that those spoken to stated that AEW will not be re-signing a few wrestlers to new contracts and instead will let their deals expire this month.
Meltzer reported that the talent currently expected to be leaving are still listed on AEW’s official roster page due to AEW is often slow to update the page. Those expected to be leaving reportedly were all talents not being used at all by the company.
Meltzer also reported that the only names currently known for expected departures are Abadon and Nick Comoroto.
Anthony Bowens Comments on His AEW Return Status Being a Mystery & Him Knowing the Perfect Time
Anthony Bowens has been noticeably absent from AEW programming since his split with Max Caster at AEW’s Collision Maximum Carnage show this past January.
Denise Salcedo held a recent interview with Bowens. One of the topics discussed included Bowens’ thoughts about when he will be making his return to AEW.
“All I can say is that you are looking at the ‘Pride of Professional Wrestling,’ AEW’s resident Five-Tool ‘Player.’ When I come back, when I show up, that is a mystery. I know when the perfect time is, and you just have to stay tuned. You gotta tune into Dynamite, tune into Collision, tune into the pay-per-views. You never know when the ‘Five-Tool Player’ is gonna show up.”

Update on AEW’s Plans for Darby Allin’s Return & AEW World Title
As noted before, Darby Allin has been on a break from AEW since this past late December due to him training for his planned climb of Mount Everest this Spring.
Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp reported in a recent Q&A article that his sources stated that AEW officials plans for Allin to be the one to dethrone Jon Moxley for the AEW World Championship have not been set in stone.
Sapp reported that AEW officials’ current creative direction for Moxley and the AEW World title is adaptable while still being driven by a long-term directive.
