The Courier reports that former WWE Superstar and Intercontinental champion Joanie “Chyna” Laurer and her agent are threatening legal action against the Scottish Wrestling Entertainment Promotion out of Scotland for not paying for her trip to work with the promotion last August. Laurer appeared at the event to sign autographs and take pictures with fans. She also appeared at the promotion’s live event at Caird Hall in Dundee.
According to Chyna’s agent: “Chyna did a show in Scotland at the end of August. We have not been paid yet. Unless, I hear from David Low as to when he is going to pay, we will need to file a lawsuit.”
SWE head David Low is claiming Chyna received her payment through her autograph session. He later responded with the following: “I’ve just opened the email and I just don’t understand. When we book wrestlers they either ask for a few or work towards that fee with autograph sessions. It’s how it works every year. Chyna was hugely popular and she smashed her fee at the sessions.”
Low believes the matter is a misunderstanding and maintains that his team has no questions to answer.
