The Associated Press reports that William Shatner is set to narrate all ten episodes of WWE’s new series Breaking Ground. The series will be a behind-the-scenes look at the wrestlers working in NXT and the WWE Performance Center to get to the main roster. The series debuts on Facebook and Youtube after Hell in a Cell on Sunday, followed by a debut on the WWE Network after RAW. The show will look at how wrestlers train and prepare their characters for WWE, as well as how Triple H and NXT trainers evaluate talent.
Executive producer Kevin Dunn said: “I wouldn’t say we’re pulling back the curtain at all. We’re telling real stories of these real people and the hardships and difficulty of making it to the WWE. I don’t think we’re giving it away. You’re just going to see how this process actually works. It’s not about NXT. It’s about making it to the WWE. I think new is always interesting on any level, especially when you have new stars on any TV show.”
Meanwhile, Dunn also said that a return for Tough Enough was “uncertain.”
The series will be produced by 3 Ball Entertainment.
Shatner said: “Ever since I tossed the legendary Jerry “The King” Lawler out of the ring, I’ve been enamored with WWE. My love affair continues with the new show, ‘Breaking Ground.’”
