Judge Dismisses Murder Charges Against “Superfly” Jimmy Snuka

A Lehigh County judge in Allentown, PA has dismissed homicide charges against Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka for the 1983 death of Snuka’s then-girlfriend, Nancy Argentino, with the judge deeming Snuka, 73, incompetent to stand trial, according to a report in The Morning Call newspaper.

The case was dismissed at the request of Snuka’s attorney, after the judge had deemed Snuka incompetent in June. A defense expert “described Snuka as a ‘shell of a man’ who did not recognize family members and believed the police officers who arrested him were fans seeking an autograph,” according to The Morning Call. The prosecution alleged that Snuka had been faking dementia, claiming that he took part in lively conversations in the courtroom but became “slack-jawed” when confronted with news cameras outside the courtroom.

In her ruling, the judge stated that she was confident that Snuka would not regain competency and that “it would be unjust to resume the prosecution.”
