WWE recently rejected two proposals for future major events to be hosted in Massachusetts. The first proposal rejected was offered by the New England Patriots and would involve Gillette Stadium being used as the site for a future Wrestlemania. The other rejected proposal was from the Boston Red Sox and would involve Fenway Park being used as the site for a future SummerSlam.
The WWE was reported to be open to the idea of Fenway Park hosting a future NXT Takeover event though.
Also, according to @JustinBarrasso on my podcast, the #Patriots tried to get WrestleMania at Gillette Stadium, but were turned down by WWE. https://t.co/wWiySyyPiG

And JB also said on my podcast that the WWE rejected a #RedSox bid for Summerslam at Fenway, but an NXT event at Fenway is a possibility. https://t.co/Z0eAdVNG2n
