AEW Files for Trademark for “AEW Blood and Guts”

AEW filed for a trademark for “ALL ELITE WRESTLING BLOODS AND GUTS” on November 13, 2019 with the US Patent & Trademark Office.

The name seems like an obvious reference to comments that Vince McMahon made about AEW this summer. At a WWE earnings call in July, Vince said that WWE “won’t do the blood and guts and gory things” that you might see with “a new potential competitor.” Cody Rhodes then responded to Vince’s comments in a video promo a couple of weeks later.
