The Revival may be done with WWE. The team hasn’t wrestled on WWE TV since the January 31 SmackDown, though they have wrestled at house shows as recently as March 1.
At one point, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE planned to give them a comedy gimmick where they would mimic tag teams of the past, which was meant as a way to bury them on their way out, but that plan has apparently been scrapped.
They were also at one point scheduled to be part of a multi-team SmackDown Tag Team title match at WrestleMania, but that may have changed, the Observer says.
Fightful Select also says that WWE has either stopped paying the Revival or has “extremely scaled back” their pay: “Multiple sources within WWE have heard that The Revival either weren’t getting paid, or that it was ‘extremely scaled back’ because they’ve already exceeded their downside guarantees.”
The Revival reportedly asked for their releases again over the Royal Rumble weekend. WWE has made them several offers to try to get them to stay, but they haven’t accepted them.
Scott Dawson’s contract expires in April and Dash Wilder’s expires in June because of time WWE added due to injuries.
