Jeff Hardy Contract Signing Update
Jeff Hardy revealed in a recent interview with BT Sport that he has recently signed a new contract with WWE.
PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that Hardy’s new contract with WWE is around two to three years in length and not the five years as had been previously speculated. Johnson also reported that Hardy’s new contract also includes injury-related time that was carried over from his previous contract.
Forgotten Sons Status Update
As noted before, The Forgotten Sons have been away from WWE television since this past June due to controversial online comments made by group member Jaxson Ryker.
Fightful Select reported (via WrestleTalk) that WWE officials held recent talks with the group regarding potential television return plans. It was reported that the company’s creative team were told to come up with ideas for the group’s potential return and Edge was stated to be helping with the process.
It was reported that it is currently not known if these plans includes Ryker remaining as a member of the group or him being brought back to WWE television.
WWE Files New Trademark for NXT Brand
WWE recently filed a new trademark to the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
A trademark for “Take Off to TakeOver” was filed on September 16th for wrestling and entertainment-related purposes. A trademark for a similar name was also filed on September 16th for merchandise-related purposes.
Updated WWE Friday Night SmackDown Ratings
This past Friday’s episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown drew a final viewership of 2,037,000 on FOX, according to Showbuzz Daily. This was the up compared to the initial overnight number of 1,954,000 viewers on the network.
