Backstage Update on Kenny Omega’s AEW Return Status for Wed’s AEW Dynamite Show

As noted before, Kenny Omega is currently scheduled to make his return from injury at tonight’s AEW Dynamite show in his hometown of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. This will be Omega’s first appearance in AEW since this past January due to him suffering from diverticulitis.

Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that Omega is currently not expected to be involved in anything physical for his return appearance due to him still having a ways to go in his recovery from diverticulitis. It was reported that AEW’s plans for Omega’s return was mostly to help boost ticket sales for tonight’s show in his hometown and for other reasons.

In regards to AEW’s current plans for Omega’s involvement on the show, it was reported that Omega might be addressing the actions of The Elite and their decision to attack AEW CEO and President Tony Khan during last week’s show. It was reported that this is something they have yet to confirm from their sources and it is possible that the decision to get Omega involved this early into The Elite’s current storyline might not make it to air for tonight’s show.
