AEW Dynamite Taping Spoilers for August 20th Episode in Glasgow, Scotland – Talent Makes Surprise Return & Match Change for Forbidden Door 2025

AEW held a new television tapings for AEW Dynamite on Wednesday at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland.

This taping will be for tonight’s Collision episode on TBS and HBO Max.

The reason for the taping was due AEW not holding the show live due to the five hour difference in time zones between the United States and Scotland.

In regards to notable moments from the tapings, Luchasaurus made his surprise return. During the show, Adam Copeland and Christian Cage came out for an interview segment that was interrupted by Kip Sabian, Mother Wayne, and Nick Wayne. Nick stated that he broke his foot and won’t be able to compete at Forbidden Door but he is always one step ahead which led to Luchasaurus coming out and attacked Copeland and Cage. It was announced that Luchasaurus will be replacing Wayne in his tag team match with Sabin against Copeland & Cage at Forbidden Door. This was Luchasaurus’ first appearance since All In 2024 due to double pneumonia.

  • Will Ospreay came out and stated that he wasn’t cleared by doctors for his neck for why he wanted to do a Lights Out Steel Cage match as it is unsanctioned. Jon Moxley and the Death Riders came out to interrupt leading them attacking Ospreay and Hiroshi Tanahashi making the save.
  • Trios match – Hiroshi Tanahashi & JetSpeed (Kevin Knight & “Speedball” Mike Bailey) defeated The Death Riders (Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, & Wheeler Yuta). Following the match, a brawl broke out with Bullet Club War Dogs (Robbie X, Drilla Moloney, & Clark Connors), The Opps (Samoa Joe, Powerhouse Hobbs, & Katsuyori Shibata), The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson), and Darby Allin all getting involved.
  • Adam Copeland and Christian Cage came out to the ring for an interview with Tony Schiavone. Cope admitted that Christian Cage is an asshole, but “he’s my asshole.” Cage responded stating he is perfect and didn’t need to change. Cage stated that this was a reunion out of necessity. This led to Kip Sabian and Mother Wayne coming out to interrupt and called Christian pathetic. Nick Wayne then appeared on video on the big screen announcing he has a broken foot and won’t be at Forbidden Door. Wayne stated that he is always one step ahead, which led to Luchasaurus making his surprise return and laid out Copeland and Cage.
  • Mark Briscoe gave a promo saying he’s going to kill MJF.
  • MJF met with Ricochet and the Gates of Agony (Bishop Kaun & Toa Liona) to form an alliance against Briscoe.
  • AEW Tag Team Championship Eliminator Tournament Final – Brodido (Brody King & Bandido) vs. FTR (Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood) went to a 30-minute time limit draw.
  • A video package aired for the Swerve Strickland vs. Kazuchika Okada match for the AEW Unified Championship at Forbidden Door.
  • AEW World Champion Hangman Adam Page came out for a promo and stated MJF jumped him because he’s a coward. MJF appeared on the big screen with Mark Briscoe tied up. MJF threatens to light Briscoe on fire unless Hangman agrees to his requests for their match at Forbidden Door. MJF requests that the title can change hands on a DQ or countout and that he doesn’t have execute his contract. Hangman Page responded agreeing to the terms to save Briscoe.
  • Athena & Mercedes Mone defeated Alex Windsor & “Timeless” Toni Storm
