Bryan Danielson Comments on Possibility of AEW & WWE Collaborating At Any Point in Future
A recent episode of the UNSCRIPTED with Josh Mansour podcast featured Bryan Danielson as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Danielson’s thoughts about the possibility of AEW and WWE collaborating at some point in the future and how it would be a huge win for wrestling fans.
“It’d be interesting. Tony Khan has a collaborative mindset. Where we’re at right now, it seems more like WWE is trying to put us out of business rather than wanting to go into business. The landscape of wrestling has changed so much in the last six or seven years that I would never say never. I don’t know exactly how it plays out as far as who is on top of who in the corporate structure of WWE, but if Nick Khan, who is a great businessman and has brokered these incredible deals for WWE, if he thought it was best for WWE to do some sort of collaboration with AEW, say once a year, and it was great for wrestling fans and wrestlers….there would be some hurdles there as far as the relationship goes because there have been some nasty things said on both sides. You have to overcome those things. If you could get there, it would be a huge win for wrestling fans.
Do I see that happening in the next year [grimaces, indicating a no, and laughs]. A lot of bridges have been burned, and a lot of bridges need to be mended for that to happen. You have people within AEW and WWE who genuinely love each other as people. I have friends there who I will love until the day I die. It’s not just wrestlers. It’s people in management. Likewise, there are people in WWE who love people in AEW. Not just the wrestlers. Love some of the people in leadership roles in AEW. There is enough love there that something could happen, but there’s also enough bad blood to where it’s like [shakes head and laughs].”

Toa Liona Comments on His Match with Bobby Lashley Being Culmination of His Hard Work & Sacrifice
A recent episode of Fightful’s In The Weeds podcast featured GOA’s Toa Liona and Bishop Kaun as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Liona’s thoughts about his match against Bobby Lashley at this past Wednesday’s AEW September To Remember show in London, Ontario, Canada.
“This entire week, I took a lot of time to reflect on everything that I’ve been through leading up to this point. To not take for granted my spot and where I’m at. It wasn’t too long ago that I was doing Uber Eats, trying to make ends meet, living in a one-bedroom apartment with my wife and kids. It was a real stressful time. I remember doing those things, going, ‘It’s going to be worth it.’ I remember sitting in the gym praying for this moment. Watching TV, seeing other people get chances and opportunities. ‘I know I can do it.’ Every time leading up to it, whether it was my first FTR match in Orlando or our first big opportunity with Swerve and Ospreay.
Every time we got a chance, we showed up. I had a chance to reflect on that, and that match, I was ready. There is not one thing in my head during the match where I felt self-conscious or anything like that. Don’t get me wrong, I damn near had a panic attack the day before. I put myself in that situation purposely because my entire life, anytime my back was against the wall, I always fought out. It might not be the healthiest thing to do, but I definitely put myself in a mental situation and space where I was fighting out of this and coming out on top. To have a chance to do that with Bobby Lashley is extremely surreal.”
