MJF Reportedly Was Driving Creative Force Behind AEW World Title Match for Redemption

As noted before, The Jult 8th AEW Dynamite Beach Break 2026 show in Clearwater, Florida featured Kenny Omega defeating MJF to become the new AEW World Champion. Omega is currently scheduled to be defending his title against “The Jet” Kevin Knight at AEW’s Redemption event on July 26 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

Fightful Select reported that their sources confirmed that MJF was the “driving creative force” behind the AEW World title match between Omega and Knight for AEW’s Redemption event.

It was reported that MJF did not specidically say Knight should be the one to challenge Omega at Redemption, he was heavily behind whoever the TNT Champion was challenging for the World title at the event.

It was also reported that MJF was believed to have also been in favor of Knight joining the Don Callis Family but this is something he has denied being true.

Jim Ross Planning for Potential AEW Return Appearance at AEW All In 2026

As noted before, AEW commentator Jim Ross is currently scheduled to be undergoing brain surgery this August to deal with a health issue that has affected his memory since his recent lengthy hospital stay for an undisclosed medical issue.

A recent episode of the Grilling JR podcast featured co-host Ross giving his thoughts about him being hopeful of being able to make a potential return appearance to AEW at this August’s All In 2026 event at Wembley Stadium in London, England.

“I hope so. I’d love to do that. I have my sights set on the UK and Wembley. You know, that’s a big event and it’s a good trip. It’s a non-stop flight. I enjoy that opportunity, so that’s kind of where I’m setting my sights. I got that big two-day appearance coming in Minneapolis soon. That’s going to be fun.”

Matt Jackson Comments on The Young Bucks vs. Adam Copeland & Christian Cage Being “One Of The Few, Final Big Money Tag Matches On The Table”

The Undisputed held a recent interview with The Young Bucks’ Matt & Nick Jackson. One of the topics discussed included Matt’s thoughts about a potential match between The Young Bucks and Adam Copeland & Christian Cage in the future.

“I think it’s one of the few, final big money tag matches that are currently left and on the table,” said Jackson. “For years, we obviously counted this one out as a possibility, but now here we are–and the match is possibly at play? It still doesn’t feel real. My mind is already racing at the thought, and ideas are already in my notepad. But I won’t believe it until I see it.”

Matt also gave his thoughts about the possibility of The Young Bucks facing off against The New Day (Austin Creed & Kofi) in AEW in the future.

“I love seeing all of the buzz and excitement about possible future dream matches,” said Jackson. “We’ve obviously got nothing but respect and admiration for those guys, and it would be an honor if we ever had the chance to share a ring with them.”
