The recent tryout camp held at the WWE Performance Center last weekend was said to be a success. Over 30 performers attended, and WWE officials were impressed with the attitudes and work ethic of almost everyone. Of the 30 attendees, most of them were independent wrestlers and several invite-only people from outside the business.
As previously reported, ROH Stars Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards were said to be the standouts of the group. They both have a good chance of signing with the company although it’ll take months with medical testing, etc. Other independent wrestlers in attendance were Joey Ryan, Tony DelFonzo, Sean Burke and Todd Hanson.
Bill DeMott, Jim Ross, William Regal, Terry Taylor, Norman Smiley and Joey Mercury evaluated the talent.
Jim Ross tweeted the following last week about the camp:
“Appreciate all the hard work at just completed tryout camp @WWE Performance Center past few days. WWE staff super. Good luck to all.”
“Great having some ex-military men in the latest @WWE tryout camp. It’s always uplifting to hear their stories. Real heroes.”
