UPDATE: It was reported on Monday that TNA may be spending around $300,000 to run three shows at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City. However, some sources say that it may not be that much after all.
The source claims that someone who used to work for TNA may be spreading false information. There were some who wanted Dixie Carter to run Slammiversary in New York this year, but she chose Texas instead.
We are currently working on this story and will have a major update later this afternoon or tonight once we confirm a few things.
ORIGINAL: TNA is set to run three shows at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City this summer. A source says that the company is paying a total of $300,000 to the venue in rent and production cost for the shows, which will take place in June, July, and August.
The source noted that this is a possible move in order to impress Spike TV, which is headquartered in New York and has yet to come to a new agreement with the company. It isn’t known whether Spike is paying any of the bill, though it is believed that it was TNA management that negotiated the deal.
